​​A few years ago I learned of the existence of the Elephant Shrew, not only did I meet a tiny, brave and new being,

I learned that majesty also comes in small formats. For them, fragility is something that comes from day to day,

which makes them constantly on the move, running for food, running to survive in a giant hostile world.

Knowing that his short life is full of adversity makes me reaffirm our own fragility

and our need to move to survive in this universe.

 

Being an immigrant made me feel that something united me with that animal,

so fragile and at the same time so strong. I wanted to immortalize them,

make them strong and big, creating a fantastic world of the same size.

Hace unos años supe de la existencia de la Musaraña Elefante, no solo conocí a un ser diminuto, valiente y nuevo,

supe que la majestuosidad también viene en pequeños formatos. Para ellas la fragilidad es algo del día a día,

eso hace que estén en continuo movimiento, corriendo por alimento, corriendo para subsistir en un gigante mundo hostil.

El saber que su corta vida está llena de adversidades me hace reafirmar nuestra propia fragilidad

y nuestra necesidad de movernos para sobrevivir en este universo.

 

Ser inmigrante me hizo sentir que algo me unía con ese animal

tan frágil y a la vez tan fuerte. Quise inmortalizarlas,

hacerlas fuertes y grandes, creando un mundo fantástico de su mismo tamaño.
